David K. Holdsworth
Estate planning and probate attorney admitted since 1975, published in the national journal Estate Planning and former adjunct professor of Estate Taxation and Planning at UMKC.
David Holdsworth has concentrated on estate planning, drafting wills and trusts, and the administration of probate and trust estates since his admission to the bar in 1975: half a century in a single field.
He has taught the subject as well as practiced it, serving as an adjunct professor of Estate Taxation and Planning at the UMKC School of Law and publishing in the national journal Estate Planning. He speaks regularly to community groups on estate planning and probate, on the theory that most families’ worst outcomes come from not knowing what questions to ask.
David served as President of the Clay County Bar Association and as Municipal Judge for the City of Smithville. He is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States.
He approaches estate planning from a faith-based perspective, and encourages clients to consider a question he finds clarifies most decisions: who would God have me name as successor steward of that with which I have been blessed?
