Civil Litigation
Trial lawyers handling personal injury, wrongful death, insurance, employment, and commercial disputes in Missouri and Kansas state and federal courts.
For more than a century, families, businesses, and public institutions across the Northland and Kansas City have brought us their hardest problems. We are still here, on the same square, doing the same work.
Free evaluation on contingent fee matters.
Most legal problems do not arrive alone. A business dispute has an estate planning question behind it; a condemnation has a real estate question beside it. We handle both.

Our lineage runs back to 1868, when the Simrall family practiced law on the Liberty Square. Conn Withers joined them in 1930. Jerome Brant partnered with him in the 1970s to form Withers-Brant, and in 1993 the practice merged with those of Vincent "Mike" Igoe and Ron Mullennix to become the firm as it stands today.
Since 1990 we have worked from Two South Main Street, a 1923 building raised for the First National Bank of Liberty and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The original banking architecture is still there. So are institutional client relationships that go back more than a hundred years.

From its office on the Historic Liberty Square, the firm serves Liberty, Kansas City, and the Northland, including Clay, Platte, Ray, and Clinton Counties in Missouri. It also serves Johnson County and the Kansas side of the metro, where several of its attorneys are licensed and appear regularly in the Kansas courts.
Withers, Brant, Igoe & Mullennix offers a free evaluation on contingent fee matters, which includes personal injury, wrongful death, and eminent domain cases. For other matters, call (816) 781-4788 and we will explain the fee arrangement before any work begins.
The firm has 12 attorneys practicing across 9 areas: civil litigation, estates and probate, eminent domain, real estate, business and banking, public entity and school law, family law, appellate practice, and mediation. That range means most clients can resolve related matters without being referred elsewhere: a business dispute and the estate plan behind it, for instance.
Call (816) 781-4788 or send a message through the contact form describing your situation. We will route you to the attorney whose practice fits, and tell you plainly if the matter is one another firm is better positioned to handle.
Tell us what you are facing. We will point you to the right attorney and explain your options in plain language. No obligation.
