David K. Holdsworth

Of Counsel

David K. Holdsworth's passion in the law is estate planning, drafting wills and trusts, and the administration of probate and trust estates. Since being admitted to the Bar in 1975, he has put his expertise to work in helping clients and improving his profession. Specifically, he has presented programs on estate planning and probate to the community and Bar associations, published in the national quarterly professional journal Estate Planning, and has taught Estate Taxation and Planning as an adjunct professor at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law. David has also  served as past President of the Clay County Bar Association and is a former Smithville Municipal Judge.

As a follower of Jesus Christ, David encourages like-minded believers to approach estate planning not from the perspective of “to whom do I want to leave my wealth” but, rather, “who would God have me name as successor steward of that with which I have been blessed?” “For there is a man whose labor is with wisdom, knowledge and skill; yet he must leave his heritage to a man who has not labored for it.”  Ecclesiastes 2:21.
